I am one of those people who has watched the Walton sextuplets grow up over the years making me feel old so this book was a further interesting insight into their lives Love that it is written from Jans point of view Very enjoyable read.

My mother borrowed this from the library and then passed it on to me to read It s a recount of a English couple and their sextuplets What was particularly unusual is that they were all girls something which hadn t occurred before Sextuplets, yes though not that often lol , but never before had sextuplets all been the same gender So they were paparazzi fodder.Janet Walton with assistance acknowledged has written her story I found the number of chapters about her own childhood etc to be a little tedious, and would have liked anecdotes about the girls, but still this is a fascinating look at how an ordinary couple manage an extraordinary family And I m sure glad I only had one child at a time

I must admit the main reason I wanted to read this book is I was being nosey and I do remember when the 6 girls were born as it was all over the papers The other reason that I wanted to read this book is that I remember being happy that one was named Lucy The book starts with Janet being a young girl and she gives us an understanding of her life This is important to her as what she has learnt growing up, helps her to raise her 6 girls, which she makes sound easy I m sure it wasn t.The book is well written and informative a must read, even if it isn t the type of book you would normally read.

Completely loved this book I ve always been fascinated by the Walton sisters and admired how Janet seemed so in control I really enjoyed how she kept their lives fairly private and the end of the book is completely heartwarming talking about how close the family is.

This book was absolutely beautiful Although it starts a little slow, through Janet s life, it really is worth the wait Funny, sweet and so, so positive The Waltons are an inspiration to all

  6. says:

Really enjoyed this book It would have been even better if parts had been written by the girls to give glimpses into their feelings, how they met their partners etc Perhaps an idea for a sequel

  7. says:

I have followed the waltons all my life and have enjoyed watching documentaries on them After meeting Jan numerous times on regular visits to the hospital throughout my life, I was happy to see that the story of her life as being a mum of sextuplets was written I m over half way through the book the girls are just going through their baptism in the church, and what I ve read so far is fascinating I may have to go through the same as Jan myself, but I hope I don t The heart breaking story of infertility is one I know so well.

I saw this book in the supermarket and picked it up to have a look I did, unfortunately put it back down and walk on But the next time I was there, I picked it back up and bought it And read it within three days I am too young to have been alive when the sextuplet girls were born, but when I had read it, I asked about it and, like the title suggests, I found their story heartwarming.I loved this book and have read it several times now

  9. says:

To be honest, it wasn t the best book I ve read It rambled A LOT But, once you get through that it was interesting to read about the sextuplets.

  10. says:

She balances telling us their story whilst protecting their privacy which is understandable but makes it a little bland in places.
