Twitter Blog Pinterest Tumblr Instagram Facebook

Complementary ebook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review Genevieve is your average college student Except for the fact that she is a seventeen year old science prodigy almost ready to graduate at MIT Things get even complicated when a vampire kidnaps her because she is needed to help the vampire with a project Genevieve tries to escape numerous times, but on her last attempt she meets Chad When Genevieve first sees Chad she is instantly drawn to him He has caramel colored eyes, a beautiful face, and a body to match He seems perfect, until she learns that Chad is a vampire To make things uncomfortable, Chad and Genevieve have to team up to try and find a way to kill monsters that are worse than any other super natural creature Being attracted to a creature that craves her blood does not seem logical The chemistry that exists between them is not a science that Genevieve is familiar with However, as Genevieve spends time with Chad, will she be able to ignore the fact that she is falling in love with him Will Chad be able to open up and allow himself to fall in love I ve tried to stay away And it s done exactly zip to erase my feelings I don t know what to do I ve never felt this way about anyone I didn t intend to let it happen with Genevieve, but here we are This book is the fourth book in the Unholy Alliances series The book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the previous books before reading this book I read this book as a standalone, and I was a little confused in the beginning of the book There are a lot of characters, and it is hard to get into the story at first Once I got the characters straight in my head I was able to get into the book All of the characters were likable Sometimes Genevieve had moments where she seemed too timid, but overall I really enjoyed her character She was smart and kind, which I think is a great combination Genevieve and Chad falling in love with each other happened a little too quickly in my opinion I was not instant love, but it still felt rushed and sometimes awkward One moment they were strangers, and then they are suddenly declaring their love for each other However, being the romance obsessed girl I am, I was still rooting for them to get together Their relationship was not the most developed or romantic, but it was still cute I m already in love with her There I was, thinking about murdering the human boy, and the realization felt like I d had both legs knocked out from under me I went into a free fall It was all I could do to gather her up and hold her last night, then tuck her into bed I can t believe I ve let this happen The plot of the book was interesting, and definitely kept my interest the entire time Since it was such a short book, I felt like some questions were not completely answered I am hoping they will be answered in the next book Overall, I did enjoy this book I would recommend this book for anyone that is looking for a quick and fun YA paranormal romance.3.5 5 FangsMrsLeif s Two Fangs About ItFacebook

I first want to thank the author for this free copy ARC I had 4 weeks to read this book, for the group We 3 YA books , but I just couldn t wait to start reading it So here is my review What can I say Just awesome I loved this book It took me a little while to get well focused on the story in the beginning, but then well, I just couldn t stop reading I couldn t put the book down even during dinner I liked the characters a lot, even though I found Genevieve a little too weak for my likes I mean, she was strong in some ways, like when she tried to escape than once, or when she had her head set on finding a solution to their problem But other times she showed her weaknesses too Especially against bullies like Josh I liked Chad, although not from the beginning But some times he made me roll my eyes at his stupidity and way of thinking Seriously, dude Do you think she s worried about the fact you can t keep her safe because of your leg She s head over heels in love with you You idiot Go and sweep her off her feet and kiss her like there s no tomorrow Yeah, I know, I need to calm down a bit But I go crazy when I see a couple falling in love And Chad and Genevieve were so cute I wanted to see of them together though And I d have liked to read of the story too It was so intriguing but way too short Now I m curious to read the first books of the series and get to know the other characters better Lucky me, the author was so kind as to send me free copies of those too Yay

Book Review Beloved Enemy by Lacy YagerEver since Genevieve was taken off the MIT campus by Maggie and Lily and brought to the compound, she has kept to herself planning some kind of escape She refuses to stay with these crazy people Josh seems comfortable here so she is on her own.She tries sneaking out the garage but runs into a group in a standoff that includes vampires She comes face to face with Chad, a vampire who was sent to fight with them Genevieve screams in fear and strengthens her determination to escape Her next attempt leads her back to the garage and into the back of one of the SUVs When part of the group leaves in search of the CAT, the hybrid vampires, Genevieve is hidden away She makes it out of the compound but realizes she is leaving Boston too She has to wait and bide her time until they stop and she can sneak away. However, she is found and paired with Chad She is then forced to accompany the group in their search Chad is not thrilled about being stuck with the human In fact he lets his anger get the best of him as he walks away from the group Genevieve lets her fear get the best of her and it causes the mission to get extremely dangerous very quickly The group barely makes it out alive.Chad protects Genevieve and feels guilty for letting everyone down In order to make up for his mistake, he becomes the one to donate blood to help Genevieve when she decides to stay and help Her job is to find something that will help destroy the CAT when no weapon they possess will.Chad partners up with her and continues to protect her even though he tries to deny his feelings He will never be good for her He isn t whole.Genevieve is driven to find the one thing that will stop the CATs and her own mission which is the cure for cancer She can t afford to be distracted Too many are counting on her.I have read a number of books from this series and I really like it In fact I request them when I find them up for review I have invested in the characters and enjoy the storyline The author proves in her books that people can change and enemies can become friends The fact that the good guys are becoming of a group of humans, vampires, warlocks, and chasers banding and fighting together is proof The book is action packed containing betrayal and even intrigue Fight scenes are peppered throughout the story and balanced with Genevieve s research I give it a 4 out of 5 and impatiently wait for the next one to come out.

his book follows two different characters again, this time we get to meet a 17 year old genius college student, Genevieve and Chad a Vampire Genevieve already feels left out in college, she is the youngest there and people make fun of her a lot of the time But not in a million years she thought she would get kidnapped from her college campus by a vampire and that said vampire would want her help on a science project At first, she has no intention of helping the vampire and her friends, but when one of her an escape attempts turns deadly, it is a vampire that comes to her rescue Talk about been surprise Chad has been a vampire for many, many years He is good looking, in a dangerous king of way and he is also the perfect specimen for the science project happening Together, him and Genevieve team up to find a way to defeat a monster even worse than killer vampires and while doing that they also discover that not everything can be explained by science, like how a nerdy college scientist and a killer vampire end up falling in love.At first I didn t think I would love, especially after reading the previous one about Rachel and Alex, but I loved it Genevieve was hard headed and with a hard heart too, and Chad Wow, he was so not your typical vampire I was on his side 100% from the beginning, there were a lot of times that I just wanted to slap Genevieve, how could she be so cruel to him But then, when you stop to think and put yourself in her position, he was the vampire, not the poor girl So, I understood her and didn t hate her as much, but I still loved a little lol.In this book you will not only get the romance, but you will get to see a little bit of science as they work on finding a way to defeat the dangerous monsters, and lots of action as they get to fight the same monsters they are trying to defeat And you do get to see a lot of other characters in this book, so of the good oldies and some new ones, which could have been potentials for other books 4 out of 5 stars for this one, why Because the end left me wanting and there isn t any books available But I really, really recommend all the 4 books that I read from this series I got the Beloved Enemy from NetGalley as an eARC Thank You NetGalley for the ebook, took me a while to get to it, but I m so glad I finally read all of them What other vampire books do you recommend Have you read this series

My third encounter with the Unholy Alliance series, this is a wonderful addition to the clever interweaving stories of survival and love that this author has penned I would suggest readers start at the beginning of the series they are quick and engaging reads and you will find several characters are wandering through each story The book starts a bit slowly, we are reintroduced to several characters and discover a new cast member in Genevieve A much younger than her peers student at MIT, she is determined to make her way at school, and doesn t allow her lack of a social life to bother her much In the last story, we had just met Genevieve as she was being tossed into the back of an SUV by our curious mix of vampires and those people who love them Not convinced that she is in the safest place she can be, and completely thrown by the existence of vampires, Genevieve uses her not inconsiderable intelligence to formulate a plan to escape, and is foiled each time, the last by Chad he of the caramel eyes and pointy incisors The entire story and series is a m lange of loves lost and found, Hunters and Vampires in collusion to destroy an enemy even greater than themselves, and the repeated displays of friendship and growth that each character, human and vampire, experiences throughout the story Action packed, with several insets of internal dialogue as the characters deal with their own issues that prevent their getting closer, each character has a unique voice and feel, with a sense of their own issues and history that informs their current actions A quick read at just 147 pages, the novellas in this series are a curious mix of character driven stories and action filled moments that are fraught with danger The mixing of hunters, vampires and humans is a clever one each character in the series has a purpose and a skill that expands the group s ability to succeed in their quest to protect those they love, and by extension the world This is a story that will let you escape into another world, where the familiar is just tweaked enough to be new, and the freshness of the interactions and powers of this oddly teamed cast of characters is engaging and unlike any of the vampire human teen YA fiction stories that have come before I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Genevieve was kidnapped against her will by a group of crazies who just might be vampires On one of her many escape attempts, she sees an attractive man injured and she tries to help him, only to find that he too is a vampire When the two of them are thrown together in a life or death situation, Genevieve realizes that there may be to this crazy world than she thought. This is the third book in the series, and they have to be read in order otherwise the story will not make any sense All the books are pretty quick reads, with roughly 150 pages, making them like an ongoing book just put into sections Each story is about the romance between two separate characters, alternating between the couples view points, but the plot stays the same in all the books The general theme of the book is a great war between the good supernaturals and the bad supernaturals, with unlikely romances popping up along the way Genevieve was a very interesting character for a protagonist, incredibly socially awkward and very lost in her own head She did not spend very much time interacting with others, instead by herself or in the lab The only person she really would open up for is Chad I have a solution for her 10 year rush, but I am not sure that is an option but I would be ok with her as a vampire.I loved Chad Yes he use to be a bad guy, but whatever, I am fine with it He is so rough around the edges, not a very friendly person, but he will protect the weak and accept responsibility when needed I really liked his character, especially when he was dancing in the lab with Genevieve I found him to be incredibly cute and likable, you know for a vicious killing machine I also liked the fact he was incredible straightforward with her when she asked him personal questions or about his feelings There was no denial here, like he became aware of the situation and he stepped up to it It was refreshing to see such an easy relationship, without the drama and angst usually found in books.I was a little disappointed to not see any of the past main characters in this installment, like Maggie and Shane, but I liked these two I really need a book with Lily and Caleb though, because the tension between those two is intense Overall a good quick read and I look forward to in the series.I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

As in the other books, we meet some new characters this time and get to know others a lot better This book focuses on Genevieve, a brilliant and slightly nerdy MIT student, and Chad, a somewhat broken vampire Genevieve really blossoms in this story, but even her growth doesn t make her lose the most endearing part of her her social awkwardness that makes her so cute I like that Chad wasn t created to be vampire perfection Instead, he had doubts and he was, at least in his own eyes, broken It was a great twist to the standard YA romantic hero.Fans of Maggie and Shane are going to be disappointed because there is little of them in this book But the story is growing and it is obvious that they will be back I like this way of building the story, getting different perspectives in different books by focusing on different characters There is a lot of action and a whole lot of mystery and intrigue building and building I can t wait to see where it goes next Things to love Genevieve I like that she finds her own strengths and starts to appreciate herself Anticipation The story is building to a climax, adding layers with each book Things I wanted less of Chloe, Maggie, and Shane These three are fan favorites and even though they aren t the center of the story right now, I wish there had been a little of them. Some Quotastic Goodness My chest is so tight, it hurts I pant, trying to keep quiet when I want to gasp I wish I had a paper bag, but my captors have taken everything from me most importantly, my freedom Loc 37 And holding her against me as we hung off the side of that train I felt something Loc 751 It s a ton of pressure on her, putting the lives of so many humans, and our group in particular, on Genevieve But she hasn t complained once She s a fighter, she just fights with a unique set of tools, the best of which is her exquisite mind Loc 1793.My Recommendation This is a great series Vamps and mystery and romance what could you want Next up is Delicate Accord, due out in the summer of 2014 This will be Lily and Caleb s story. This review originally appeared on my blog,

This review, and others, can also be found on my blog Journey Through Fiction I received a copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley, Thank you , in exchange for an honest review This did not affect my opinion in any way I love reading a series in order, and I didn t realise Beloved Enemy was the third book in a series until shortly before I began reading I haven t read the previous two books, and I do think this had a big influence on my overall opinions on the book I ve read a couple of series out of order before, but I find I don t get to know the characters as well as I want to Plus, it usually cuts out the confusion of not knowing what is happening in the overall story line.I ll hold my hand up and say this is my fault, and I know that if I had read the previous books, I would have had so much knowledge and familiarity towards the characters and story arc I was confused for the first 20% or so There are a lot of characters introduced very quickly and they are either fully human, vampire, warlock or Chaser With all the names floating around I did get a bit confused with who was who, and who had what abilities.Beloved Enemy is a very quick paranormal read I m not the fastest reader, and I finished it in one sitting For such a short book, a lot happens Our main female character, Genevieve, has been abducted and the book begins with her trying to escape her vampire captives On her second attempt at escaping, she runs into Chad, our male MC, and the hormones kick in.I feel like so much of the story was lost to me, and I would have liked to find out what happened to the characters before this book started Several characters are mentioned but we don t get to meet them, so my focus was really on Genevieve and Chad s budding relationship, and the Catatatoares bad vamp problems. There might have been a hint of insta attraction, but I enjoyed the way it played out They didn t immediately jump into the I wuv u s which is so nice to see.Overall, I did enjoy Beloved Enemy, but I really recommend reading the series from the beginning While I did feel a bit lost at times, and I know this could have been avoided.

I couldn t help but read it immediately My first thought when I read whose story would this be was, Oh, no It s Chad and Genevieve What about Andi Well, when I finished reading it, I got my answer.Like the previous book this also had multiple perspectives although enjoyable it was a bit confusing in terms of the scenery in which the next is not really related from the previous one I enjoyed reading Lily s pov I had an inkling of where her interest lay and I was right It was fun reading this side of her and I never expected her to be a computer whiz besides being an expert at drawing blood. For some reason when I read the beginning when Genevieve wanted to escape, I laughed I find it quite amusing although I do understand her fears even though her being kidnapped was for her own good I kind of find Genevieve s character weak although I do rather pick that than the strong, stubborn, and pigheaded heroines these days They irritate me but she does have her strong moments I never expected Chad as a vampire to have a problem with himself and that he thinks he not enough for Genevieve I felt for Andi when she gave him the pep talked That she loves him enough for him to be happy When I read Andi s pov, I was like, Don t worry girl, a guy will sweep your feet and he s right in front of you I never saw that coming too I find it too short though and the ending was the same like the previous once Abrupt and unsatisfying I also want to know how they can continue their relationship with what being a mortal immortal I ve been reading that line over and over How it would work since the humans don t have forever Another positive in this book is that they finally have a way to destroy the Cat That was interesting but at the same time the method of how they die touched me The thing that I never expected the most was the traitor in their midst And I felt bad for Josh.I can t wait for the next books in this series and it makes me wonder who s story is next.I received a copy from We YA Books author in exchange for an honest review.
